Ten years ago, GGNet began doing managed IT for Midland Orthopedics, a group of 8 Orthopedic Surgeons with a support staff of over fifty and four offices across the Chicago Metro area. We maintain point-to-point (WAN) connections from the satellite offices to their downtown location. Uptime is critical so we monitor these circuits in real time 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

By centralizing network services to their downtown office, we have reduced the number of servers and resources needed, and at the same time built a more robust infrastructure to support their busy practice.

Security is paramount in a medical world, both as an ethical obligation or patients and a legal requirement under HIPAA. We have installed and managed an intrusion prevention system (IDP/IPS) to both maintain and document HIPAA compliance.
